Destructive Testing

Forensic investigation and documentation of building envelope conditions for construction defect litigation, pre-suit evaluation, and engineering consultant support — across Greater Orlando and throughout Florida.

When Surface Observations Aren't Enough

Water intrusion, stucco cracking, balcony leaks, and general building envelope deterioration may have multiple contributing factors. Through the destructive testing protocols, we assist the consulting engineers through removal and examination of various building envelope components. This allows the construction litigation team to build a comprehensive case that identifies the root cause of the water intrusion.

Every opening is planned with the consulting engineer, executed under controlled conditions, photographed at every stage, and restored to pre-investigation condition when the work is complete. The outcome is a defensible record of what the assembly actually contained — not what it was specified to contain.

Who We Work With

Destructive testing sits at the intersection of construction and litigation. The professionals who engage us for this work include:

Documentation That Holds Up

The value of a destructive test is only as good as the record that comes out of it. Our documentation package is built for the environment it will ultimately live in — expert reports, mediations, depositions, and trial exhibits.

Chapter 558 Aware

Florida's Chapter 558 pre-suit notice statute governs much of the construction defect landscape in this state — including rights of inspection, opportunity to repair, and the coordination of destructive testing between parties. Eastbrook understands the mechanics of a Chapter 558 inspection: how notices flow, what defense rights look like during inspection, and how investigations need to be structured when multiple parties are entitled to participate.

We are not your law firm and we do not provide legal advice — but we do understand the environment the work lives in, and we will coordinate with counsel accordingly.

Engage Eastbrook for Destructive Testing

Most engagements begin with a phone call or email from counsel or the consulting engineer describing the property, the suspected deficiencies, and the scope of investigation being contemplated. From there we scope the work, confirm availability, run any needed conflict checks, and schedule. For attorneys evaluating whether Eastbrook is a fit for your matter, see our For Construction Defect Attorneys page for a full overview of how we work on litigation-adjacent engagements.
